cover it up...PLEASE
I was sitting at my brother's tennis practice waiting, waiting, waiting when two older gentlemen walked in with their tennis rackets ready to go. This normally wouldn't have bothered me in the least. Just two guys trying to get some fun exercise. The part that bothered me...their shorts were shorter than mine. That's taking it too far. It's one thing when a fourteen year old girl's shorts don't cover her butt, but it's a completely different situation when a 65 year old man's shorts don't cover his butt. Please fix this sir.

I'll be your alibi...
On the top you have Kerry Butler and on the bottom you have Aaron Tveit. Both singing the same song. The song is from Catch Me If You Can and it's absolutely amazing. Kerry Butler plays Brenda Strong who sings this in the musical and Aaron Tveit plays Frank Abagnale Jr. I love them both (maybe one a little bit more than the other). Please forgive the giggling in Aaron's video. And the poor quality of the video. And how they didn't even film him singing but instead filmed the wall behind him. I thought that was a nice touch. They must have done that so you can actually listen to the song as supposed to staring at his beautiful face. Let me know which one you like better.

Please notice the new Harry Potter movie posters I have added along the side. They are very important to me so please respect them. You may also notice that I have so graciously added the year that each movie came out under each poster. I love HP.

how sorry are you?
The other day I stumbled upon "Formal Apology Forms" which make you saying sorry, way less awkward. I have yet to do something so terrible that it deserves a formal apology, but I kinda want to do something really mean just so I can use one. You write what you are sorry for and why you did it and what your excuse is. It makes life so much easier. AND, you don't actually have to say sorry to their face. And it's kinda funny so it makes it impossible for them to be mad at you after handing them one of these.
Use them wisely.

do whatever you want
“Look at you. You’re young. And you’re scared. Why are you so scared? Stop being paralyzed. Stop swallowing your words. Stop caring what other people think. Wear what you want. Say what you want. Listen to the music you want to listen to. Play it loud as fuck and dance to it. Go out for a drive at midnight and forget that you have school the next day. Stop waiting for Friday. Live now. Do it now. Take risks. Tell secrets. This life is yours. When are you going to realize that you can do whatever you want?”

Ave Maria by David Bisbal
Yes, it's in Spanish. Don't think that you won't enjoy it if you don't speak the language. You will laugh your ass off even if you don't speak Spanish. Guaranteed. His dance moves, may I say, are epic. This will make your day. You're welcome.

rant
Last October I went to see a musical comedian by the name of Bo Burnham. I was going with three other friends and we were just going to go see the show, get pictures and autographs after and then come home. So when I went to tell/ask my mother for permission, I told her that we were going to a concert and the performers name was Robert (which it really is) and that he plays guitar and piano (which he really does). So I wasn't lying, but I clearly wasn't telling the whole truth. After the show, I got pictures with Bo (who is freakishly tall by the way) and I got his autograph. I also got one of his CDs.
Last month, my mother and I were repainting our bathroom and I had my iHome in there so we could listen to music. My mom liked to listen to Next to Normal which does say f*** in it and she was aware of that fact. But one day when she was working without me, she turned on my music only to hear Bo's song I'm Bo Yo which does have what a mother would consider "inappropriate" content. So of course, I got caught and she got kinda mad at me and gave me her disapproving look (which trust me, you don't want to see). But what I want to know is why it's so bad to listen to? It's not like I plan to give the CD to my seven year old brother and tell him to listen to it. I know enough to not repeat the words and it's not like I haven't heard them before, so what's the big deal? Why should I not listen to his music? She would tell me it's because it's inappropriate and I would say in reply that it's not like I don't know better than to repeat the things I hear or to tell them to young children.
When she comes up with a good reason as to why I shouldn't listen to Bo's music, then I will probably still listen to it, but at least take into consideration what she has to say.

so guess what happened today...
Today around 1:50, I was walking through the school foyer with my friend Kelsey after 5th hour. As we were walking, she told me that we needed to stop at the attendance window to pick up her tennis shirt. We were leaving early for our meet and got to skip all of our 6th hour classes. She picked up her shirt from the window and as we were leaving the foyer, we hear what sounded like gun shots coming from behind us. We looked at each other in fear and then turned around and looked behind us. As I turned around, I saw people running, screaming, and diving to the floor. Kelsey and I didn't know what to do. So we turned around again to look and people were running and pushing past us yelling run, run, run. So what do we do? We sprint for the band hallway up ahead and run down to the band rooms as fast as we could (but of course we check to make sure that our adorable student teacher is safe first). We run into the band room and into the locker room where all the instruments are stored. After about five minutes of waiting it out in the locker room, the principal comes over the loud speaker and announces that it was only fire crackers and that whoever set them off would no longer be a student at our school. Well that's just great to hear. Now the whole school knows that the staff doesn't even know who did it. The sad thing is that this was the most interesting thing that happened all day.

scratch bakery
So on Saturday I went to UNI to visit my sister and while we were there, she took us to the most amazing bakery in the world. Yeah, ya hear that Carlos Bakery?! They had the BEST cupcakes I have ever had in my entire life. The bakery was called Scratch and it was tiny, but the cupcakes were absolutely amazing! Not only were the cupcakes amazing, but the customers were also quite...interesting. While at the bakery, I met a nero (a nero is half ninja and half super hero). He was incredible as he almost karate chopped a cupcake box out of an old lady's hands and then proceeded to take a picture with her to make her feel better (don't worry, she didn't drop the cupcakes!) He was sporting a pair of spandex gold leggings with The Flash underpants on over top (which is actually where he kept his wallet and his one dollar bills that he collected from people on the street). He was also wearing a sleeveless shirt with "Saving Society From Sobriety" on the front of it. And he had a mask so as to not reveal his identity, of course. My sister was the only one brave enough out of our group of five to get her picture taken with him. After her picture was taken (by me) with him, he asked told her that he took one dollar bills. So of course, being my sister, she starts to dig around in her purse for a dollar. She finally finds one and goes to give it to him but he won't accept it. She turns to me and asks what to do. So I tell her. "Courtney, really? You have to stick it in his underwear." She blushed and exclaimed in front of the whole bakery that she wasn't going to do that. After five minutes of prodding from me and her roommate, Katie, and her friend Jordan, she eventually stuck the dollar in his The Flash underwear.
Even though this man was the highlight of my day, I figure I should tell you about the cupcakes that we ate. I got one called the snowball. Judging by the name, one would think that it was all white cake and frosting with coconut but no. It was chocolate cake with white creamy frosting and then coconut on the top. It was amazing! I wanted to melt it was the most delicious thing I have ever eaten in my entire life. Yeah, it was that good. If you want to indulge yourself in one of these cupcakes, here is the web site where you can get all of the information and the address for the shop. BEST CUPCAKES EVER!!!!!

research paper
So I have to write a research paper for my AP Lang and Comp class and I have a topic, I'm just having a hard time getting it started. My topic is how Broadway is changing and becoming more realistic over the years. Big examples are Next to Normal and RENT because they discuss real issues like bipolar disorder and AIDS. I got three books from the library and have been looking through them nonstop, but honestly, they aren't a whole lot of help. They give a lot of years and I learned that the very first Broadway show was in 1866 and it was called The Black Crook. I had no idea that musicals have been around for so long! Well I guess the point of this useless post was to ask for help. If you have any websites that would help me or if you have any ideas on how to start my paper, please leave me messages.

stuff
Well I'm sitting in class...bored yet again. Shocker. I have to at least look like I'm doing something. I have no ideas as to what I should write. I never do though. Maybe if I continue to ramble on, something will come to me. I never usually do anything in class on blogging days. I go to stumbleupon.com and look at funny pictures of cats. Sounds fun, right? Looking at cat pictures for a whole hour. Good times, good times. Bored. Clueless. Hatred. Blah. Blah. Blah. I've decided to only write when my teacher is near and look and Harry Potter wands when he is nowhere to be seen. Next summer after I graduate, I get to decide where our family vacation is to. Obviously, I chose the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. I plan on buying a wand when I get there but I'm having a hard time trying to decide who's wand to buy. There's the obvious one, Harry's so I probably won't get his. My sister has the Elder wand (Dumbledore's) so I won't get that one. I kind of wanted more of an obscure character's wand. I was thinking maybe like Luna's or Cedric's. I would get Sirius's wand but my cousin has is. Here's the link to the wand shop if you would like to peruse the selection. Harry Potter Wands. They have so many to choose from but I still don't know. I don't want a bad guy wand so don't even suggest Voldemort's wand. Draco's would be okay but I still don't know. I also need ideas for my research paper. I was thinking something along the lines of 'How Broadway Shows Are Becoming More Realistic And Dealing With Real Issues'. Cause if you think of a show like RENT, it brings the problem of AIDS and it gets it out there and actually explains a lot about it in the show. I've only seen the movie, but I hear the show is amazing. Or there's also Next to Normal, that talks about bipolar disorder. The show will make you cry.
Not to be rude, but the girl sitting next to me "blogging", is looking up fashion pictures. It's kinda really awkward. She keeps looking at pictures of weird bikini shots where the women are sprawled out on the ground. Whoever thinks that it's an attractive shot is clearly out of their mind. It's not attractive. It's weird. Slightly creepy, too.
I quit. I have decided to play sporcle games in stead of doing work. This is actually what I usually do. I'm surprised I got this much done. I think this is maybe the second post that I've done in class the whole year. We usually blog every Wednesday. And I do nothing. Every Wednesday. This is why I'm almost failing this class.
Have you heard of the musical Glory Days? It's pretty famous so if you haven't, you must live under a rock. It opened on May 6th, 2008. It's my latest tastless obession. It stars Steven Booth. I love him. His voice makes me melt. I don't care how stupid that sounds. I realize it sound really really stupid so you don't need to point it out. I don't know the story extremely well, but I know the general idea. It's about four best friends:
Will — Steven Booth
Andy — Andrew C. Call
Jack — Jesse JP Johnson
Skip — Adam Halpin
reuniting after their first year of college and basically reliving their glory days. Then during the song Open Road, we find out that during that year that they were apart, Jack discovered that he is gay. Jack and Andy were roommates and so this news makes Andy feel betrayed. It's actually really sad because judging by the music and the lyrics, they never fully forgive each other and it's never really over. They realize that they just have to move on. Favorite song? Probably Generation Apathy. Why? His voice. It's not Will/Steven Booth singing, it's actually Skip/Adam Halpin. Beautiful voice. Love it.
Well I have officially run out of ideas. Great.

love love love love love
As you can tell, I love this video. I love this man. This is Curt Hansen singing Open Road from the musical Glory Days about four friends meeting up after their first year of college and remembering their glory days together. Curt was also the one that I saw playing Gabe in Next to Normal, so I kinda love him a lot.
...whatever
I once again have no idea what to write about. I started this post once before and had roughly 700 words and my computer decided to up and quit on me leaving me with nothing. Not even a saved draft to go off of. Great. Thank you so so so much blogspot. I really appreciate it especially since I am going out of town tomorrow and will have no computer to finish the blog posts that I won't have done on time. For that, I would just like to say thanks again. I hate you.
Well now I have hit a road block. I once again don't know what to write about. How do I have nothing to write about?! I have seen millions of movies and I could write about one of those but no! I can't. Why? you may ask. I don't know! I don't know why I can't write about something, but I just know that I can't do it. Besides, I haven't seen anything good lately that would even deserve a review. I saw/snuck into Black Swan with a friend last weekend but I couldn't even do that movie justice. It was so amazing and complicated that I would just get everything wrong. There is no point in even trying to write about that. I did however have an idea the other day about a movie that I haven't seen. The movie is Beastly, which I'm guessing is supposed to be a "remake" of the Disney original. Here's a few tips: 1. you can't remake Disney movies. Every kid in the universe knows the story of Beauty and the Beast so don't try to mess it up. 2. don't pick the hottest guy in Hollywood and try to make him ugly. It's obviously not going to work. 3. if you wanted this movie to be a success, you would have made him fat and ugly instead of giving him a few scars and letting him keep his chiseled six pack. Do you think Vanessa Hudgens would fall for him then? Doubt it.

You all know by now how obsessed I am with the musical Next to Normal but here is a video of their performance at the 2009 Tony Awards. You can watch the whole thing if you really want, but if you want to see the best part, you will skip ahead to 5 minutes 11 seconds and look at Aaron Tveit's face. It gives me chills every time I see it. I guess you could say he's the "bad guy" of the musical because he wants to take his mom away but that face just gets me every time.
I once again have no idea what to write about. I seem to voice my opinion a lot and let everyone know what I am feeling. Sorry about that. I know that most people don't really give a shit what I'm feeling or thinking for that matter. I know that because I feel the same way about other people's blogs. I hate it when they go on and on about how they are feeling. Nobody cares! I don't want to talk about movies. I don't want to talk about music. I would rant about how much I hate my brothers right now but that would be totally contradicting myself, so I won't do that. I honestly don't know what to do. And yes for any of you who are wondering if this is for a grade. Yes, yes it is. And I hate every minute I have to sit in that class and listen to the one smart girl who has an opinion on everything, the loud obnoxious girl who doesn't shut up and the one kid with the razor sharp wit who tries to be best friends with the teacher. I. Hate. It. Can you tell?
;ldjf oiwaeufoiejrlmansfroHWORJH. That is honestly how I feel right now. I would probably smash the computer if it weren't my mother's. You know that look your mom gives you when you try on new clothes and you really like it and she doesn't? It's that "if you really like it" kind of look. The look where she clearly hates whatever you are trying on but she doesn't want to say it, so she just gives you "the look". Then you get mad and she is all "clueless" as to why you are mad at her. The only reason I bring it up is because it happens to me on a daily basis. She will give me the look and I won't say anything, but when I give her the look, I get yelled at for being "mean" to her. What a crazy world we are living in these days.
Wow sorry. I was ranting again wasn't I? Well since I was on the ranting track anyway, did I mention that my computer crashed yet again? That would make it the third time this year. That's the third time I have lost all of my pictures, all of my iTunes and all of my school projects. One would think that after the THIRD time, my parents might get a new computer. No. They are so cheap. My mom complains that it's me and my brothers messing up the computer. Yep it's me all right! The whole three times a year that I use it. I'm the one crashing the computer every time. You caught me!
Thanks for listening to me vent. Sorry for venting. I'll try to not do it anymore.

wanted: good blog ideas
I have no idea what to write about. I need to have a word count of 1200 words a week and a minimum of 3 posts and I am like 2 weeks behind so forgive me if nothing makes sense. I am also watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire at the moment so that means that 98% of my attention is on that, 1% is taking care of my brothers, and the other 1% is actually on this blog post. So once again, please forgive me if this is the weirdest blog post ever.
Well it's spring break and I have nothing to do. How sad is that? ABC Family was kind enough, though, to start off my spring break with a Harry Potter weekend, so that was a nice touch. My tennis coach decided that he was just going to ruin every ones break by having practice at 10:30 in the morning this week. So to him I would just like to say thank you so freaking much. I really appreciate that you actually think that my partner and I will get better at a sport that we don't even care about (we just play to get out of gym class). When it comes to tennis, I guess you could say that we are amazing. Following every shot I get to hear "great shot chief!" from my partner. Last year was my first year of school tennis and let me say, it was a good year to join the team. Last year, the grumpy, old man coach was leaving to coach the boys team and the super hot assistant coach became head coach. When I say super hot, picture tall, dark and handsome and that's exactly what he looked like. That also meant that the assistant coach spot was open. So who else should they choose but the amazingly attractive biology teacher who knows nothing about tennis. So here we are on the first day of practice, about 30 or so 15 year old girls and 2 super sexy coaches. Do you think anything ever got done? If you guessed 'no', you'd be correct. It was, however, the best year of tennis I have ever played. This year, playing on the junior/senior team, not as much fun. We have my 50 something year old AP U.S. History teacher and his best friend for coaches.
My mother also decided that spring break would be a great time to schedule a dentist appointment. So I also get to go to the dentist at 9:00 tomorrow morning. Great.
Enough ranting. My spring break started off rather well. I went to Next to Normal on Saturday and it was absolutely amazing! I went with my mom and sister as a late Christmas present. We went to the mall (of course) and then went to the show. I saved my money at the mall, which was maybe the hardest thing I've ever had to do, and bought myself a 25 dollar t-shirt at the show. My sister and I know basically everything there is to know about the show and my mother had no idea what it was about, other than the fact that is was a musical and had a song in it called "I'm Alive." She also didn't know that there was any bad language in the show (my sister and I got chewed out during intermission for not telling her). The show started and I could barely contain myself. I would have to say that whoever does the lighting for the show is a genius. The lights took the show to a whole new level. I didn't care that I was sitting way in the back or that I wasn't seeing it on Broadway at the Booth Theater. It was so amazing and breathtaking that you literally couldn't move. It pinned you to your seat. My mom was trying to follow along and she got it all in the end (for those who don't know, it's a little bit of a confusing storyline). We all, however, walked out of the theater crying. It is such a tearjerker. I looked over at my mom during the show and could see her dabbing her eyes so her makeup wouldn't run. It was truly a bonding moment for the three of us. I was a little worried when we got there that we would be seeing only the understudies, seeing as it was a matinee and not the evening show. But no, the show began and there was Alice Ripley, straight from Broadway, on the stage. I also saw Asa Somers, Curt Hansen, Emma Hunton and Preston Sadleir. Sure it would have been amazing to see Aaron Tveit as Gabe, but Curt was incredible! Before the show, some lady came up to us and asked us if we wanted her voucher for a free program. So of course my sister and I were like duh of course we do! We took the voucher to the counter and gave it to the lady working and she gave us the program that is worth 20 dollars at the merchandise stand. I don't know who she was but just in case she happens to be reading this for some reason, THANK YOU SO MUCH! So if you were wondering, the show was really good and I loved it.
The next Broadway show that I have to see is called Catch Me If You Can (CMIYC). Which, surprisingly, stars Aaron Tveit. If you were wondering if it's based off of the movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks, you would be correct. Aaron plays Leo's role as Frank Abagnale Jr. and Norbert Leo Butz plays Tom's role as Carl Hanratty. You can go to this website to see more about the musical opening on April 10th, 2011. I am so excited!
Well Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is on right now and that one is my favorite so you are now getting even less of my attention. I love Harry Potter so much. Next summer after I graduate, I get to decide where the family vacation is, so obviously, I chose Universal Studio's Wizarding World of Harry Potter Theme park in Orlando, Florida. Next weekend however, all of my family from my dad's side is going to St. Louis to "hang out" as my mother put it. Fun. I'm making estimates on how many times I will be asked about how school is going, if I know where I want to go after high school, and what I want to do. It'll probably be somewhere between 25 and 30 times. I've already got my answers lined up. After high school, I'm going to Hogwarts to become a wizard. The truth is I have no clue what I want to do after high school, and if I had the choice, I would rather become a wizard than do anything else. Speaking of Harry Potter, if you haven't seen A Very Potter Musical on YouTube, go watch it now. It's a legit musical with good songs and it's hilarious. It takes parts from all 7 (or I guess you could say 8) movies and puts bits and pieces together.
Well I'm tired of writing so I'm going to play games on Sporcle.com. Just in case anyone was wondering, this post was 1227 words. Winner. 1228.

Winner. 1228.
